Conference Scholarships and Discounts

ACR offers conference registration scholarships and discounts to encourage attendance, especially by first-time attendees, and to enable attendance by students and those who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial circumstances.

Financial Aid Scholarships

Twenty financial aid scholarships are available for ACR members who are active in the field of conflict resolution as practitioners or educators, but lack the personal financial resources and/or employer sponsorship to attend the Annual Conference. Financial aid scholarship recipients pay a reduced registration fee of $195.00 for the Main Conference. ACR members interested in applying should send an e-mail to conferences@ACRnet.org requesting an application form. The application deadline is September 18, 2007. On-time scholarship applicants who do not receive a scholarship may register later through the regular registration process and the early bird rate will be honored.

Chapter Scholarships

Each ACR Chapter may award one Chapter scholarship to an individual member of both the Chapter and ACR. The awarding Chapter contributes $195.00 and ACR contributes $200.00 to cover the Main Conference registration fee. Each Chapter determines its own criteria for its scholarship, most are based on financial need. Interested individuals should contact their local ACR Chapter President. Note that the Chapter portion of the fee must accompany the Registration Form.

Volunteer Mediator Discount

ACR provides a volunteer mediator registration discount for the Main Conference. Discounts are honored for up to one hundred ACR members who serve as volunteer mediators or provide other voluntary support to community-based programs. Applicants should submit a completed Registration Form, a letter from the community-based program establishing volunteer status and confirmation that the discount is necessary to make attendance possible, and a fee of $235.00. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received.

Student Discount

ACR offers a Main Conference registration discount to full-time students at the rate of $195.00 for ACR members and $250.00 for non-members. In order to qualify, proof of full-time student status must be submitted with registration. Students must provide a copy of a current tuition payment receipt, a letter from a professor or a copy of a dated student ID card that verifies full-time attendance (12 credits undergraduate or 9 credits graduate).

Conference Volunteer Discount

Conference volunteers work for approximately one-half of the conference performing tasks such as serving as session monitors, providing directions and information, and helping at conference events. The registration rate for conference volunteers is $150.00.
