The ACR 7th Annual Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Whether you are flying into town or driving, here are some tips on getting around town.

SKY HARBOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is the major airport serving Phoenix. It is located less than 5 miles from the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Getting to the hotel is easy by taxi, shuttle or rental car:
  • Airport Car Rental Companies - All major car rental companies, as well as several local companies, operate at Sky Harbor International Airport and are located in the off-site Rental Car Center. Contact individual rental car companies for specific information. For general information about the Rental Car Center call 602-683-3741. Check the following website for car rental company price comparisons in Phoenix http://www.carrentals.com/?cid=4904&chan=phoenixvariety&l=phx

  • Taxies, shuttles, limos - pick up curbside, follow the transportation signs on the ground floor baggage level.

  • Buses - Valley Metro: Local service is $1.25. DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle): to Downtown Phoenix/Copper Square is Free, operates weekdays.
COPPER SQUARE - The Hyatt Regency and the Phoenix Convention Center are in the heart of Copper Square, a 90-block urban area of businesses, sporting venues, shopping, hotels, theater, entertainment, housing, and more. www.coppersquare.com
  • Learning to navigate Phoenix streets - Phoenix streets are set on a North/South and East/West grid. Central Avenue is the "0" street when going east or west. Most, but not all streets that run in a north-south direction have number names. "Streets" are east of Central Avenue starting with 1st Street to 200th Street and beyond. "Avenues" are west of Central Avenue starting with 1st Avenue to 300th Avenue and beyond. Washington Avenue is "0" when traveling north or south from the heart of the city. For example, the Hyatt Regency is 122 N. 2nd Street. That means it is two blocks east of Central Avenue and 2 blocks north of Washington Street.

  • Look for the Copper Square Ambassadors - Getting around Copper Square is easy, but if you need help, just look for the Copper Square Ambassadors on bikes or on street corners. They are on duty seven days a week year round. They carry maps, business directories, a schedule of events, dining guides and a two-way radio and they are eager to share information. Look for their orange and khaki uniforms.
