The Arizona Chapter of ACR looks forward to hosting the ACR 7th Annual Conference from October 24-27, 2007 in Phoenix. We join ACR in inviting you to come to the Annual Conference to rekindle friendships and meet new members, to learn about conflict resolution in traditional and non-traditional ways, to explore and share innovative ideas, and to continue our conversations about diversity and equity.

Arizona is a culturally and geographically diverse state. Our heritage draws from Spanish and American Indian influences which stretch across Arizona from small old copper-mining towns like Bisbee or Jerome, to major cities such as Tucson and Phoenix, to the Grand Canyon - truly one of the world's great natural wonders.

October is one of the most pleasant times of the year in Phoenix and throughout Arizona. Many attendees will come only for the conference. Others may bring family members and extend their stay, either before or after the conference. As hosts, we want you to enjoy and experience as much as possible in the time you have in Arizona.

Between now and October, we will provide information each month in ACR Update that we hope will whet your appetite for the Annual Conference and make your visit to Phoenix, Arizona more enjoyable. In the coming months, we will highlight a range of topics, including:

  • Fun facts about the history of Phoenix and Arizona
  • Weather and what to wear. (But it's a dry heat!)
  • Best Arizona places to visit including day trips and more. The Grand Canyon is #1, but don't miss the red rocks of Sedona, or Tombstone, Bisbee or Lake Powell.
(Note: Anyone desiring to stay at a lodge in the Grand Canyon National Park should make reservations early.)
  • Sports events and venues - Phoenix is the home of 4 major sports franchises
  • Outdoor activities - hiking, biking, boating…Did anyone say golf?
  • Sightseeing and tour opportunities on your own and organized
  • Dining in and around Phoenix
  • Museums and cultural activities - Heard Museum, Science Center, Phoenix Museum of Art, Desert Botanical Gardens, and much more
  • Entertainment nightclubs, theater, opera, concerts, arts and craft fairs ...

We hope to see you at the Annual Conference.
