What is included when I register for a pre-conference institute?

The ACR pre-conference institutes provide opportunities for attendees to participate in intensive, topic-specific, workshop-style events taught by notable and well-respected experts in their field ranging from 3 ½ hours to a full day. The institutes are an outstanding chance for conference attendees to receive in-depth professional development. Pre-conference institutes require an additional fee separate from the conference registration fee. Registrations for pre-conference institutes include all instruction materials.

What is included with the Advanced Commercial Mediation Institute registration?

ACMI is a two-day advanced program for experienced commercial mediators sponsored by the ACR Commercial Section.

Are presenters required to register?

Yes

How do I register?

You may register 3 ways: Online, Fax, or Mail starting in June.

Students attending the Conference must register by fax or mail and must include a copy of their current student ID or a letter, on letterhead from their professor, in order to receive the discounted student registration fee.

A separate order must be placed for each person who is registering.

When registering on the website, the person logged in must be the person registering. (Note to assistants and purchasing agents: If you want to register a group of people, you will need to log out after each registration and log back in using the next person's login information.)

What types of payment may I use?

If payment is required, you may pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express), check (in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank), or purchase order ($15 additional fee applies). 

Can I register at the Hotel and what are the registration hours?

Yes, you can register onsite ($25 additional fee applies).  You will need to bring full payment and a government issued photo ID.  Registration hours are:

Can I bring a guest?

Guest registration fee is available only with the purchase of a full conference registration. You will be allowed to bring only one guest per paid registration. When registering online, you will be prompted to complete the guest information after you have completed your registration.

Can I bring my spouse to the Welcome on Wednesday?

Yes, you can as long as your spouse is registered for the Conference as a guest.  

Will badges be mailed?

No, Badges will not be mailed they will be picked up at registration

Where do I pick up my badge?

Badges may be picked up in the Registration Desk at the hotel.  There will be signs to direct you to the correct registration area located in the Exhibit hall.

What do I need to bring to pick up my badge?

All registrants must show a government-issued photo ID in order to pick up their badges.  It is helpful if you also bring your confirmation letter. Each registrant must pick up his/her own badge; representatives of groups cannot pick up all the badges for that group. 

If I can’t attend, can someone take my place at the Conference?

Yes.  The original registrant must notify ACR in writing of the change as soon as possible.  In the event of a last minute change, you must bring the written authorization with you to the registration counter.  Membership status will determine if additional fees will apply.

What is the address of the hotel?

Is there parking at the hotel?

Yes.  There is a hotel parking and a private lot across the street from the hotel.

Is there transportation to the hotel from the airport?

Yes, public transit service on the MARTA system, Atlanta Shuttle service via the Atlanta Link and taxi cabs are available from the airport. Click here for more information

What is the cancellation policy?  

Cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing. A full refund, minus a $95.00 administrative charge, will be made for cancellations postmarked or faxed by September 22, 2009. The cancellation will be acknowledged upon receipt; however, the refund will not be issued until after the Annual Conference. Cancellations postmarked September 23 to October 7, 2009, must include documentation of a medical emergency. In this circumstance a letter of credit will be issued for 50% of the amount paid that can be applied towards ACR’s 2010 Annual Conference fees. Refund requests postmarked after October 7, 2009 cannot be honored under any circumstances

Are financial aid scholarships available?

Is ACR looking for conference volunteers?

Yes, you must be able to work 4 half day shifts during the conference to receive the $195 volunteer registration fee. For more information about volunteering requirements email conferences@acrnet.org.

Can I distribute commercial literature during the conference?

No, Commercial advertising and promotion is limited to the exhibit hall’, authors’ corner, and program. Commercial literature left in room or on tables will be removed and disposed.
