The International Sociological Association’s RC26 Sociotechnics/Sociological Practice 28th Conference

June 11-13, 2004

Molyvos, on the Island of Lesvos in Greece


The division on sociotechnics/sociological practice (RC26) of the International Sociological Association is an interdisciplinary group of practitioners, professors and researchers. The conference organizers are very interested in the role of mediating structures and mediation in general in reducing and/or solving disputes, conflicts and crises.

 

Submission of Proposals

Social scientists, mediators and other social science practitioners with an interest in social policy and/or social intervention are invited to attend and/or give presentations on any area of practice at all levels of intervention (from individual to international). Proposals are encouraged for individual presentations, panels and workshops. Requests for information about the conference and all proposals must be submitted to GeorgeTsobanoglou, president of RC26, at G.Tsobanoglou@soc.aegean.gr.


A proposal should consist of the following: a short description of the presentation/workshop or presentations, the contact information for the presenter(s) and the organizer (if a complete session is proposed). (If a workshop is proposed, please indicate the time requirement.) Please also provide a paragraph of biographical information for each presenter and the organizer.

 

Travel Information.

The conference will be held in Molyvos on the island of Lesvos, Greece’s third largest island. Molyvos, with it’s medieval castle and traditional architecture, is the island’s best-known resort and an artists’colony. The Mtyilini Airport on Lesvos is a one-hour flight from Athens but also can be reached by boat.
